Uncompromising

un·com·pro·mis·ing /ˌənˈkämprəˌmīziNG/ adjective: showing an unwillingness to make concessions to others, especially by changing one’s ways or opinions.

Doesn’t strike the right tone in the workplace?

I say think again.

Authentic leaders are clear on their values and make decisions and take action that are aligned with those values.

Despite the people or pressures that challenge them to act otherwise.

Is this sounding more appealing?

If so, consider these three questions and their implications:

Are you clear on what you are willing to be uncompromising about?  If not, you’ve likely acted in ways not aligned with your values.

Are you clear on your values?  If not, it’s time to reflect and get clear.

Are you in a work environment that aligns with your values?  If not, it may be time to evaluate.

Being an authentic leader starts from within.

Why within?

Authenticity is of undisputed origin.  It’s your being.

Where to start?

Clear your mind.  Close your eyes and breath deeply.  Go for a walk.  Or meditate.

Identify what is most important to you and clarify your core beliefs.

Ask yourself what feels most comfortable in your body.  Conversely, ask yourself what makes you feel most uncomfortable in your body.  I don’t mean tight jeans - I mean inside your body.

Authentic leaders are uncompromising.

What are you uncompromising about?
